My solid state ampeg guitar amp (head unit) is cutting out?
and comes back in. The power and chanel lights don't blink or fade, but I can be going along and the volume fades in and out. Any help on what this could be is GREATLY appreciated. I am running a crate 4x12 with it. Thanks again, Mud Bug

its probably the circuit board a transistor might be loose so when you play it loudly the vibrations shake it you can open it up and soder it but you dont feel comfortable doing that you can always take it to guitar center or sam ash and they'll do for ya

Guitar Players - amp question?
I'm wondering the pros and cons of using a rack mounted effects unit with a power amp and a 4x12 speaker enclosure (as opposed to a regular guitar amp head). When I use a good effects it seems like it sounds best with the tones flat, so I'm wondering why even bother with an amp head. Good or bad idea? If good, any advice on the power amp?

Going the component route as you describe was all the rage in the 80's. I put together racks for a couple of guys that were 28 units (49") tall and weighed a couple of hundred pounds. But hey, they had roadies to abuse. If you have a rack mounted preamp, effects unit, and power amp that you really like, then by all means use them. Yes, it's more to carry around but if it gets you the sounds you need, then go for it. As far as power amps go, Marshall and Mesa both make tube type power amps. If you're preamp is solid state or digital based, these amps go a long way toward warming the sound up and taking some of the digital edge off. Good luck. Greetings From Austin, TX Ken

How can I get professional quality Reverb for my Guitar Rig without Pedals?
I have a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier Amp Head and Cab. I love the sound of the Dual Rectifier, but there is no way to get Reverb on it. What should I do so I can have a variety of reverbs available for my Clean and Distorted tones, WITHOUT pedals. Preferably a Rack Unit (I do not like Stompboxes for the disorganization they cause) or maybe even another Guitar Head with some nice reverb options. How would I go about setting this up?

You might want to consider some of Line 6's gear. I believe that they make a Pod XT that fits as a rack module, which will give you all the reverb, amp modeling, delay, etc. you could ever want! And fairly affordable, too.

How to tune bass guitar from drums on a truck subwoofer?
I have a subwoofer setup 2 12" kenwoods and a kenwood 350watt amp aswell as a kenwood head unit The music i mainly listen to is metal and includes bass guitar, how do i make it to where it hits hard on the drums without the annoying hum of the bass guitar?

Get an equalizer so you will have more control over frequencies rather than just your head unit's bass and treble control which are centered at a certain frequency. The more bands the equalizer has, the more you can fine tune the sound. A 10 or 11 band eq(1 octave) should be fine.
